Licensing question.
22 January, 2010, 10:18
Hi guys
I haven't played airsoft for about 2 years now and am planning to come back to it next weekend. I have my own guns and equipment but i will need to purchase BB's and gas when i get to the site. I understand that you need to require a license if you intend to buy guns but do you need a license to buy gas and BB's?
I do intend to get a license in the near future as i would like to add another desert eagle to my other leg hehe pew pew!!
Cheers guys

Re: Licensing question.
no you don't need a UKARA just for gas and bbs. if you bought your guns before the UKARA nastiness, then you can still play, but you need it if you want to buy again.
go to the site and become a regular player, then you can register and buy some more shiny shininess..

Re: Licensing question.
You don't need a license to buy consumables, infact, you don't need a license to buy anything, and that includes guns. THERE IS NO LICENSE!

Re: Licensing question.
Basically, its not licensing. Its a way for retailers to know that any RIF's they sell are being sold to legitimate airsofters. The UKARA scheme only applies to anything that counts as a RIF. Anything else, such as gas, BB's, sight systems, gun slips, even two tone guns all do not fall under the legislation.
But if you want a new gun, you do need to get registered. Three games in no less than 2 months at 1 site.

No you don't, that's only the stipulation laid down by UKARA to be registered on their database. While that IS the easiest way to buy a RIF, it's not the only way.
The sooner TKOS does his VCRA gude the better!

Now your just trying to cause an argument aren't you?
To be honest UKARA lays down some silly things to make you become part of their database, the very least you need to be is a member of a site with third party liability insurance and be able to prove it (Most sites do a membership card or similar) also there is the re-enactors defence and if you are in the film industry that can also be used to buy RIF's, It's stupid how someone can have a shotgun, firearms and special firearms license but still has to get the membership to buy RIFs.
This Post may contain my opinions and if you disagree with them Tough S**T!
