just bought one on a whim, just wondering as i'd heard some tales of woe trying to get mid caps that work with them ok?

looking for plastic ideally, anyone know which ones work or which don't even?

Well as they are a TM basis (most AKs are anyway) you shouldn't have much issues with mids.

Personally I can recommend the CYMA and the STAR ones (but not the newer Ares) mid-caps. Best to get the CYMA ones.

Also MAG ones are a good bet, if you want a box full of them and they have the style you like.

Better sticking with the CYMA or MAG ones for an AK.

odd, never had moments trouble with my Vietnam stlye king arms mags

but taking the advice anyway, unfortunately it seems Cyma are metal (and i need at least ten for gunman realcap games) and Mag only seem to do waffle and bakelite (that i can find) and i'm a total NamSofter

Then get the STAR ones, you can get a box of 10 mids or reals for dirt cheap, they are plastic and well held together for what they are.

Aye. Still looking out for those but my usual places don't have any.

I was under the impression that STAR became ARES or some such?

CYMA ones are awesome; they're built very, very well. Had nothing but problems with star mags in the past- pouch fillers...

Sort of Ares took over from STAR and dropped the quality along with the price.

The older STAR mid-caps had little to no issues at all but the new Ares ones are often terrible.

Well I'll get a few CYMA and keep looking for MAG in the correct style as I kinda wanted plastic

CYMA do a RPK 40 Round style that will give an edge at realcap games lol

I'm lead to believe GG AKs are pretty fussy by comparison to M4s though
