  • tac light which one?

Going to the mall at the end of Feb, looking for a good, functional tac light that is competitively priced.

Any recomendations? And what do people think of these grip/light solutions?

Have a look at some of the Fenix torches, for a Cree LED light with quality as good (if not better) than Surefire, they offer good value for money

I like the Surefire G2. It's cheap, light and powerful and it also takes accepts most G&P accessories like pressure switches and replacement bulbs.
G&P also make great tac lights too. They are pretty much surefire clones and work just as well.
I've got a CQB game coming up next sunday and I've just ordered myself an Element M600 and an ACM M3 for under £50 posted. Once they arrive I'll stick my opinions of those here if you like.

With the grip lights do you mean the surefire M900 style ones?
I've got one (clone) and I'm not a massive fan of it. It has nice features like the LED nav lights and constant on as well as the pressure pads but the main down sides for me is that it is very bulky and very heavy.

Cool thanks guys, that sounds good Evansy, pop up a review or something, people will likely be looking for more advice on TL's in the future.

The Surefire ones, that's the type, they look a bit more compact than some, but I didn't know if they were a bit 'busy' or bulky.

The surefire type are great, just don't do what I did and buy 3.7v batteries and put them in thinking they're 3.0v.

Great torch, but a f***ed bulb!

You can, which is what I'm doing, upgrade the bulb to allow for higher voltage batteries and, therefore, more brightness from the same size light.

Cool, does the pressure pad create a problem as I heard there is no on/off on the actual light?

Depends on the model. You can buy with or without, or with both.
