Re: sa80 front ris what you think
looks awesome mate, but i think you should make some RIS cover that resemble the original handguard to go on the side RIS, cos then it has the cool OD colour at the front.
or maybe try and make RIS strips to fit onto the original handguard, that would be cool too.
but good job so far!
try out some lights and lasers on it!

Re: sa80 front ris what you think
Looks great - any chance you could post a step by step guide in the tech section? Which SA80 is it on, the Star or the G&G?

Re: sa80 front ris what you think
its fitted to a g&g with a 20mm existing rail.
the ris is actually a dboy casv m4 front kit about 35 quid, everthing required to fit comes with the origional kit apart from a couple of countersink screws. it is very easy to fit only requiring a junior hacksaw and a file.
1/ curved rear of cas v cut square.
2/ top rail removed from casv and bottom ris rail inserted between the two(using three aftermarket longer countersink screws) . this drops the frame lower over the barrel and allows a mini battery to fit in the hinged bottom section.
3/ top front of cas frame cut back to fit around front sight.
4/ two short sections of ris from the sides fitted to bottom for hand grip.
you will loose your front sling mount ,if you wanted a stronger casv as the dboys is diecast for a front sling mount you would be better of using a steel western arms one but this is alot dearer

Re: sa80 front ris what you think
thats the problem, although theres extras in the real steel world theres nothing in the ******* *****, probably why the m4 is so popular.
although the purists will say the acog is a big no-no its the replacement for the susat ,with the acog already in use.
as for a front ris there already in use just not supplied to everyone at present.
i will try to put up some better photos as the ones ive posted aint great, poxy low energy lighting
