G36 Paint job
1 March, 2013, 21:00
Hey guys, I'm looking at putting a paint job on my G36, but I'm stuck really.
I really don't know what'll suit it - Any ideas going?
Was looking at an East German spray coat, something like this;
http://www.houtsenterprises.net/dur_eastgerman.html
Or A Marpat coat (Although I wear DPMs, it might look a little odd)
Anyone got any suggestions/Pictures going?
I've tried searching to no avail. Also, where would you guys source some good stencils/templates from?
Thanks!

Re: G36 Paint job
Perhaps do the handguard and stock a nice olive drab, like an old G3? I think it looks sexy anyway... camo patterns on guns rarely look good, most look tacky as hell.

Re: G36 Paint job
Personally i prefer G36's in black or grey, so more less standard. However, one of my fabourite looking versions is one in use by Formoza (Polish Naval SF Unit), which looks like so:
Brown also look good:
As well as a mixture of tan, greys and brown:
Or basic brown/tan snake skin pattern:
Pretty much all of the pictures feature a member of Formoza.
Just some reference pics, hope it helps

If you camo it in a specific pattern then there's a tendency for it to look out of place if you aren't wearing matching kit. It's not the end of the world, more of a personal preference!
Your best bet is to camo it in a non specific pattern as suggested above. Simple vertical stripes of black, brown and olive drab would work with most woodland camo. Or use mesh and/or foliage as templates to give it a bit of a pattern but nothing camo specific.
