WW2 SAS used MP40 mainly in North africa/Med/Italy due to it being avalible and reliable plus the ammo issue. They used the sten alot in Northern France etc due to the fact the french resistance were supplied with 1000's of the things and the SAS worked closely with them after d-day. They also used the Thompson when they could get hold of them.
I have a fair bit of WW2 SAS books etc and can't find any pics or referance yet with SAS troops fielding MP44's, but thats not to say they never tried them or did use them.
If you want to get a MP40 a couple are for sale on this forum at the mo with a few mags with each so worth a look, as even one of the main Hong Kong sites are listing AGM MP40 Mags as disscontiued.
