Stupid sale price rant.
22 May, 2013, 10:28
This is something that has been annoying for a while now and many of you airsofters too. How many of you are sick of looking through the classifieds and seeing guns for sale at either very close too, the same as or even sometimes more than the new shop price!?
The one that has broke the camels back for me is a vecter for sale, original asking price of £350 then bumped down to £330! there only £325 new.
Just thought I would post my first rant on here lol please feel free to express your opinions

Re: Stupid sale price rant.
exactly that. you can list an item for sale for whatever you want. it might not sell but that's their choice

I have to disagree. I have never sold anything on here and not been haggled down by at least 10%-20% and iv had offers of less than 50% of my asking price. It's smart selling.
You want £80 so you advertise for £100 knowing your going to get haggled down. The buyer is happy as he knocked 20% off your asking price and your happy as you got the £80 that you wanted.

Re: Stupid sale price rant.
It is silly, I saw a combat machine (around £130 new) with about £100 worth of accessories listed initially at £350!!
I wanted to pm the seller, but then, they can ask whatever they want, it's their item. I just worry someone who doesn't know its true value will get ripped off.
Still it's theirs to do with a price as they want.

Re: Stupid sale price rant.
I understand that its their choice but when I offered some friendly advise and it was actually friendly all I got back was a bunch of foul abuse, so in the future I'll leave them to it and they will never sell it.
As for the bartering I understand that everyone adds a bit on but not to the point of the new price or even above the new price.
Callum.

Re: Stupid sale price rant.
On a similar vein.
A custom gun is just that. It's been altered from stock to create something unique.
An M4 with a magpul kit on is an M4 with a kit on not custom.
Likewise something bodged together from your spares box is not custom it's a spares gun.

Re: Stupid sale price rant.
Aren't there troubles regarding the Vector? Along the lines of 'no more will be sold because KWA p***** off Kriss'?
They're probably capitalising off of that bit of news, but what annoys me is a part list that either shows the seller bought the parts at a steep cost from RRP, or I can't look up the part in the first place! Not sure if it's an obscure brand of epicness, some cheap chinese clone bit or a load of bollocks to make 'stock' sound custom.

People can advertise whatever they want for their kit, i just means it will never sell. All you end up with is a long list of bumps or they wise up and drop the price

So I can't sell my dboys m4 with its barrel bent 90 degrees as the next version of corner shot for £1000 ? How about a swap for a PTW
Seriously though some people are delusional about what some things are worth. some sellers overprice item's yea but amount of seriously silly lowballs you get sometimes reall does take the p##s.
People just need to be a bit more realistic.

Couldn't agree more with a couple of these comments. There are a lot of silly prices in the classifieds for a range of items. It's the sellers decision what to charge and if its too much they just won't sell it. It's annoying but nothing can be done.

This comes up ALL THE TIME!
People are free to list items at whatever price they feel appropriate. There's an appraisal board for people to get advice on pricing etc if they want to.
If you don't want to pay the listed price, make an offer of a price you consider reasonable. If you don't want to buy the item then click on, and leave the seller to their own devices.
Yes, there are inevitably going to be con artists and people trying to make a cheeky buck from a witless buyer, as there are on the high street and on ebay, and yes, they are the blight of the forums, but we'll never be able to completly get rid of them.

Re: Stupid sale price rant.
We seem to get one of these threads as a weekly occurrence now and they always go the same way... OP moans about stupid prices, rest of thread then agrees, and/or mentions that users are free to ask whatever price they choose, and sometimes descends into an argument, then goes off topic. So on that note...
