  • So looks like ive been scammed...

its been two weeks since i paid the forum user by bank transfer which i regret, user is ignoring my messages, but he still seems to come online everyday which is p*ssing me off!

what can i do, i just want my money back now... what i do have is his name, number (although he never answers) and bank details.

    your advice is much appreciated.

Try the Lost Souls thread to see if anyone else on here knows him and could pass on some 'friendly' advice.

You can also contact a mod, or failing all that make his username public and start a witch hunt. I'd be more than happy to bombard this jackhole's inbox with you.

First, call him. Repeatedly if necessary, until he picks up.

You have his name and his bank details (which will include his address) so you can ultimately find out who he is, and where he lives, if you have to. Many people reuse forum names and e-mail addresses elsewhere; you could try PMing a mod and asking them to give you the e-mail address that he registered with - he might well have FaceBook or other social media accounts using the same address, and you can go from there.

I'm sure you already know this, but for anyone else reading this that doesn't, paying by bank transfer is f***ing stupid (second only to paying by PayPal Gift) and you shouldn't do it.

Just as a reminder of where we stand:

•If a user can’t be contacted for whatever reason there is a new section of the forum 'Lost Souls' that you can post in requesting the user’s attention. Anyone who can contact the unavailable user should PM them and let the original poster know. No personal information should be posted on this forum. Any inflammatory posts will be removed. Only people attempting to contact that user should post in the thread. All thread titles should contain the username of the person you are trying to contact.

•A moderator cannot give you any information on any user for any reason. We can only PM a user if their inbox is full requesting they remove some messages and contact you. That is unfortunately as much as we can do when it comes to trade disputes.

Never, ever, absolutely never ever pay by bank transfer!!!! Always paypal and don't gift it. Pay the sodding fees if the seller moans about fees.

The bank will not entertain any kind of charge back since no such mechanism exist for bank transfer.

What's his forum name/ID? I would seek out someone on this forum who has sold this guy something and get heir cooperation to volunteer the address they sent kit to. I would volunteer the address of anyone who has blatantly ripped off another forum member. He must have bought something off someone here ???

Because we know who it is then
No naming and shaming involved then, just looking for a missing forum 'member'.

Paypal isn't exactly great itself. If the funds have been moved out of the account, it's gone. Wether paypal find it in your favour or not. The only safe option is to meet up and trade face to face. Failing that buy from trusted members.

                      That's not true either.

Even if a seller removes funds, if PayPal find in buyers favour buyer WILL get their money back, if sellers account is in a negative PayPal will freeze the account until either funds have been put into the account to clear the negative balance, or until such time as they get pi$$ed off of waiting and start court proceedings.

Take it from someone who knows.

another point, maybe try calling him froma withheld number, i would imagine he doesn't have a mobile for scamming and a normal one also, so you may get "lucky" and he may pick it up not knowing it is you

This is the best idea yet if the moderators aren't happy to release his e-mail address. Look through his feedback, contact the people who have traded with him before, and get his details from them. If you bank transferred money to someone with no feedback, well, you've no-one to blame but yourself!

you might be able to get your money back form pay pal they did to me i sold some thing on ebay and the bloke said he never got it witch he did so got his cash back and the item that i sent this why i wont use pay pal because if some kicks off saying they dont get there item pay pal just give them money back. i know people dont like bank transfer but its the only way i will sell or buy things on hear i also will send screen shot showing i have payed or received payment if the seller or buyer wants one and send every thing first class recorded and send the tracking number to the buyer

If you have a tracking number for it and other evidence paypal will support you.

Back on topic - if you'd actually read the OP's post you'll see that he used bank transfer. And I would never buy anything from you by bank transfer. Ever. (Even if you had over 20 positive feedbacks from buyers over a range of a minimum of a year, which you dont.)
