    Most the noise from an AEG comes from the gearbox & motor, rather than out the end of barrel.

    Subsequently, a silencer does very little.

      I had a TM MP5K, stuffed it with strips of j-cloth so all the little gaps were filled and it was quiet as anything. Not very technical i know but hell it worked!
