Range on a P90?
21 February, 2010, 19:49
Just want to know what the expected range of a P90 should be. Mine was really pants today...
I know it was not the battery as I tried a few with the same result. (But have bought a lipo already)
So thought about a new M100 spring and hop up as mine does nothing. Anything else I should consider?
Cheers

Metal bushings?
The range on a standard TM P90 should be fantastic!

Re: Range on a P90???
Yip it was raining but it was pants out the box. I would like to get the range to at least the 50 meter mark. Can it be done?

Re: Range on a P90???
Battery has no effect on power or range of shot.
Check the hop is fitted properly, and actually projects into the barrel. A new spring will help, but you're better off diagnosing what's wrong now rather than 'fixing' the problem without fixing the problem.
Clean your barrel. Disassemble your hop. Regrease the piston and cylinder. Then, and only then, can you see if you need new parts.

Did you adjust the hop?
I'd get it crono'd, see if you have a compression issue!

Did the hop and it had no affect at all, the BBs would fly about 25meters then just dip. I did crono the gun and it was going at 335fps.

Re: Range on a P90???
Looks as though it is the hop. I would get someone to take it out, check the rubber and nub then re fit it for you. There could be something wrong with the nub or maybe there is no nub in the hop. Worth a look though befor you start spending money.

Re: Range on a P90?
Simple thing but have you cleaned the barrel as when new they have a lot of muck in them and that kills the range
Also how many rounds have you put through it as until the hop beds in the range will not be great, it takes about 1000rds

Re: Range on a P90?
right after stripping the hop and having a close look at it i now have a slightly better understanding of how it works.
As for the nub i think it is the part of the hop that moves up and down on the BB depending which way you turn the hop setting. (hop wheel moves a small leaver up or down which in turn moves the nub up or down??)
If this is the case i don't have one. I have come to this conclusion as when i removed the barrel i looked into the hop when i moved the setting wheel the little lever would move up or down but there was nothing in the hop to make contact with a BB.
Now can i just buy one or should i go with a brand new hop up as i have decided to put a few £s into my P90 and get it to its best.

Thats it, the little piece of rubber tube that nearly always falls out just as you get everthing in the right place....lol...You can simply cut a tiny slice of tube from a bic biro to replace it with then reaserch at your leisure how to upgrade..Just make sure the replacement fits side to side with a small amount of clearence. If you cut it to small you could end up with side spin, to long and it will jam.

Re: Range on a P90?
just thought i'd say i'm running a standard p90 on 0.25's
and i had a few comments one of which was from joe who said
"the range on that thing is biblcial"
not sure on the spelliug but yer so long as you set the hop right and use 0.25s a standard tm p90 works wonders :3
