Skirmish Day Tool Kit
12 August, 2013, 18:57
Evening all,
Just buying a couple of tools as a couple of mine have got rather worn out.
I'm just wondering - what is in your toolkit for emergency repairs during a day out at Skirmish?
I don't want to know what you have at home in a workshop for in-between games; just what you take out to a site incase anything goes wrong?
Thanks!

Re: Skirmish Day Tool Kit
My whole tool kit comes with me.
Basically, my workshop stuffily fits in a large tool box and it ALL comes with me. I don't need to carry it far and I would rather be looking at it as opposed to looking for it.

Re: Skirmish Day Tool Kit
Multibit screwdriver and a multi tool.
More than enough to strip down and do basic repairs.
I also carry a spare Aeg just incase.
I've paid to play and that is what I shall do, gun fail or not.

Duct tape.
If you can't fix it with duct tape, you're not using enough duct tape!

Set of Allen keys
Multi-bit screwdriver
Torx screwdrivers
Pliers
Learned the hard way as my gun failed once early in the day for a two minute fix. Was most annoyed.

Re: Skirmish Day Tool Kit
My kit consists of:
leatherman (I have either a Core or an old school supertool II)
A set of allen keys
electrical tape
a little dropper bottle of silicon oil
a little tub of grease
a rifle-length unjamming/cleaning rod.
cleaning patches
an adjustable spanner
I would also pack in any specialist tools I happened to have. For example stock tube wrenches, 1911 bushing tools, as applicable to my chosen weapons. In my case, I don't have any that need any tools like that, which makes life easier.

Mine's pretty simple, ....a spare AEG and batt'!
"This is my rifle, it's just a toy one, there are many like it, they're toy ones too, without it, i'm £250 better off, without me, it gathers dust in the corner, we're just big boys playing soldiers, lets try and remember that" play fair have fun.

Re: Skirmish Day Tool Kit
Spare AEG is probably the best answer... Most sites are friendly enough to lend you a rental gun if you have serious breakage during the day! A bench at a site/car boot is no place for proper repairs.
For adjusting things/swapping sights and batteries and the like, the following will be all you need:
Magnetic screwdriver with the sets of different heads (much less to carry than a set of screwdrivers)
Set of Allen keys, set of precision screwdrivers, pliers, hop adjustment tools
That will get through most things and will all fit in a medium sized dump pouch!

Re: Skirmish Day Tool Kit
I have a small multi tool kit that is meant for a PC that came free with a PC magazine.
Works just fine.
Also have a pouch on my webbing for allen keys, for my guns. Hop adjustment, motor adjustment etc. Why go back to the safe zone for something that will take 1 second to do at regen.
