12 August, 2013, 19:57
Hey guys. I bought a L96 with this god awful camo tape on it. I started to remove it tonight and its takes hours and hours... the top layer and adhesive layer is splitting...this is horrific lol.
Any ideas?

If all else fails... Strong alcohol.....
Cheap and nasty vodka will do at a push, but white spirits, turps, meths etc should all do the job at destroying the adhesive.
If all else fail - lots of swearing as you put up with it!

Try white spirit if you have any (use sparingly!) - worked a treat for me removing some horrible gaffer tape off an old eotech. Came out looking brand new!

Or sticker , tape remover .Liquid , A few hardware shops sell it . Does not damage the plastic but tape / glue / sticker residue comes off so so easily ,

Isopropyl Alcohol is good for cleaning gunk off without causing any damage.

proper Windowlene, will certainly remove the residue.
"This is my rifle, it's just a toy one, there are many like it, they're toy ones too, without it, i'm £250 better off, without me, it gathers dust in the corner, we're just big boys playing soldiers, lets try and remember that" play fair have fun.

surgical spirit (95%ethanol) and WD40 are your best bets if you're still having a problem. If not, save for future reference.

The residue being left behind is thin plastic so most normal methods u use doesnt work... really struggle to get some purchase on it
