Flares at Night Games
20 August, 2013, 18:28
Hi all,
I minor thought passed my head and I was wondering if flares would be allowed at night/weekend games.
To be clear I am thinking of the distress flares you get on boats, not the massive military ones.
My initial thought is that they would okay as there are already pyro at sites but thought I'd get peoples opinion on the matter.
Could make an interesting addition especially to milsim games

Re: Flares at Night Games
Keep in mind flares are highly visible (obviously) and could be picked up by Mr Joe Public from miles away, resulting in a phonecall to police about an emergency flare.
Nice idea, but I don't think the practicalities are there yet.

Re: Flares at Night Games
Do you mean handheld flares or those shot from a specific flare gun?

I'm disappointed not to see any comments about 1970s leg wear.
Usually worn by The Bay City Rollers and their ilk.

there would be health and safety concerns i'm afraid unless you used cycle clips ,trip hazard warning label's and a short training session.

Re: Flares at Night Games
As I understand it red ones are generally recognised as distress flares. So no red flares for you.

They certainly don't go with a green tank top and yellow cap.

Re: Flares at Night Games
I think I'm in the mood for wearing my distress flares.
Yeah, they're red. What are you going to do about it?
Nothing. That's what. Now jog on Mr so called "Fashion police!"

Re: Flares at Night Games
On a serious note. Unless you have contacted the police and coastguard and asked them to use a flare (and you have to tell them when and where quite specifically) then you can be fined for setting one off.
