Best smithing tool
1 October, 2013, 20:28
Do bits and bobs on my firearms and now on mine and my sons airsoft stuff.
I find the dremmel a fantastic all round tool. Just fitted top rail to an M3 Marui Shorty....screws, no glue.

Yeah I love the Dremel. It's the modern man's duct-tape.

My hammer.... If it doesn't fix it I'm not hitting it hard enough.
If it makes it worse the I've hit it to hard and need to give it to a professional to fix

If it cannot be screwed, pinned or bolted onto the RIF it doesn't belong there.

There is the lathe of course, has to be one of the ultimates.
If you have access to one with a milling attachment then what you pay for a fiver, you make for 5p.

Spoken like someone who never costs up their own time lol Yes, I can buy the materials to make my own flash hiders for pennies, for example, but by the time i've factored in the cost of my own time, that 5p has become £30.05
Me? Ar-15 armourers toolkit, Record No. 3 vice, lathe and mill - in that order.

Don't forget the white sheet. Lay that down first before stripping anything as that will save you losing springs etc.

Re: Best smithing tool
good quality magnetic screw driver's(save so many stripped screw heads and frustration when screwing on m4 pistol grips), lath/mill, mig welder, bench grinder ,angle grinder , good set of taps and die's, a good angle poise lamp and a complete absence of children.
