Anyone got any first hand experience of the Tanaka browning hi power?
Ive heard mixed reviews, whats it like? is it fragile, how does it shoot etc?
Cheers

Re: tanaka browning hi power
I wouldn't bother. As said, wait for the WE.
I have shot one. It is incredibly light in the hand. Even with the magazine in.
The trigger pull is long, but not stiff. The blowback is very crisp and surprisingly strong for the light, plastic slide. Accuracy at about 8m was fairly good, in fact about as good as my old KSC Glock 26 (which I was shooting just before, at the same target).
This was a very early, non heavyweight model. I'm not sure what gas was being used in it either.
That's pretty much all I remember.

Re: tanaka browning hi power
I have owned one. Mine was the Inglis heavyweight. Ha heavyweight my arse. I had numerous issues with it from new although it looks sweet and is well made it is a wallhanger. I could fire round corners with it. Unfortunately that's not what I was actually trying to do. It should oly be used on 134a, it is very fragile. If you vent the gas from the mag the rubber seal shoots off into the distance. basically only collectors and anyone who must have a browning buy it. Hence me getting one but tbh it is the biggest pile of Sh*te on the market and at nearly 200 quid you could probably buy 2 WE ones when they come out.

Re: tanaka browning hi power
well its much better than my old hsu wei one, 6.1 mm barrel, no hop, 13 round capacity, no repairs or upgrade parts, everyones a winner with HW
trading WE M16A1 for CYMA or RS SVD with PSOP

MY HW one is still going strong and shoots a billion times better than my Tanaka which has never done a full mag in it's life!

Re: tanaka browning hi power
Never owned a HW one but it wouldn't surprise me if what you say is true though as there aren't too many guns out there that can be as bad as the Tanaka. What you do have to remember though that it is a really ancient design and Tanaka have done nothing to bring it into the 21st century
