  • M4 (The Used Look)

    Hey guys

I was wondering if anybody could help me give my mk18 a bit more of a used look/personal look to it.
I've seen people with tape around the pistol grip and mags etc i was just wondering what else i could do
to give it that personal feel any info or picture would help alot

    Thanks
    JTM

What exactly do you mean by 'personal feel'? What do YOU want from your MK18?

    For example,

Do you want it to look like the real steel versions?
Do you want it just to look bad ass?
Do you want it to feel comfortable in your hand, and have everything just where it needs to be?

If you want a personal feel, there's nothing we can do to help you.. as it's your weapon, so you need to modify it and add any accessories that YOU want, not what we want!

Maybe some more information as to what you're looking for would be good!

        Re: M4 (The Used Look)

Best off buying some khaki spraypaint from Halfords, spraying the whole thing with it.. Then using some white spirit or similar and removing some of the paint to give it a weathered look.

Much better than just adding bits of FDE furniture to it.

There's a whole thread here for it: http://forums.zeroin.co.uk/showthrea...Worn-Look-Guns

Maybe this might help. I went at mine with a tin of krylon khaki and halfords brown. I left the lower receiver khaki and scrubbed the upper back too black but it gives a dusty look. Also useda bit of net on the stock to give the snakeskin effect.

Hi mate I recently posted up some pics of my dirty G36, have a gander it should be near the top of this section - could give you some ideas. Other than that the thread mentioned above is awesome, some lovely examples in there :-)

You can also use the spray paint from b&q, bigger stores have quite an extensive range.
                        For general weathering :

Clean the surface of the rifle and dry it
Cover or remove anything you don't want sprayed
Spray a liberal dusting down on your gun
Let it dry for five or so minutes to go tacky
Take a clean cloth, apply white spirit and use that to create a worn look in the paint.
