Steel pistols, why do they use sh*t die cast frame rails???

So was just about to buy myself a ra-tech stainless ii until i figured it seems to use the same crap inserted lower frame rails of the kjw/tm system . Since when did anybody think a steel slide running co2 on micky mouse metal frame rails was a good idea!!!!

Can the insert part that contains the rails be bought as a steel upgrade?
To get steel rails (please correct me if im wrong) you have to buy the ra-tech hi capa or the steel hi capa lower from prog4. Which sucks cos i wanted a true 1911 skinny grip.......steel 2011 with the prime alu grip would be nice but by the time the build would be finished your talking WELL, WELL OVER a grand.

If you're not going to upgrade it or anything, just buy it and use it.

If it fails because of sh*tty quality, that's a warranty issue, surely? Claim your money back in that case.

I use an Airsoft Surgeon Limcat, it cost just shy of a grand and its brilliant. Oozes quality! Im sure someone will make a steel insert but whats up with using a good quality alloy? AS and Prohandgun make some very nice 1911 frame sets that if built right would not miss a beat on co2 as long as the mags fit!

I have a ra tech usp and it uses a steel slide on normal rails, needless to say the slide is eating at the lower it being much harder. Wanted a steel pistol for years now and thought that they have come far enough to be fairly reliable. Maybe im wrong!

Done the kitted alu pistols thing and to be honest, to me they feel way to light. Yes they look dreamy but i like weighty stuff.....im my own worst enemy

Had a look on the webernet and cant find a steel rails insert replacement for kj/tm, it looks like a complex enough shape so would cost a lot to have made as a one off.

'Gunsmith Bros' make a 7075 aluminium one, about $100 though.

Get a quote! Its not like its a huge part. Even if it cost a bit, its going to last you!

Google 'gunsmith bros 1911 inner frame' - only one shop seems to sell it, but it does exist!

That's a shame. It would be a good substitute for steel, 7075 is one of the strongest aluminium alloys - not as heavy though.

Going to shoot them an email to see if its discontinued or what. Its actually not a bad price considering that its a complex enough shape!

Failing that a steel hi capa with prime grip would be f'n awesome
