how much ammo is acceptable ?

well i went to R.I.F.T yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it .. But i tallied my ammunition count and it was over 9K ..
which i think is allot for a game day which brings me tio this question what is an expectable amount of ammo to go through on a standard game day ( not milsim)
or how much do you use ?

Hmmm hard one as seeing I use various weights I take a few bottles to games. .20 for moscarts, .25 for aeg, .30 pistols and .36 for sniper. (found these the best weights for each)
So I carry mids only (hate highs) and a semi warrior so for aeg prob take about 3000 and only use half after a day.
If sniping then only a couple of hundred,
pistol same again and if in mad moscart mood then a couple thousand
Usually take a bit more than know will use so have spare to share with others

So can range from a couple hundred to about 1500-2000 in woodland but can be upto 4000 if urban, like was at UA a while back.

But surely you can never have too much ammo? Lol

9k!!! If you enjoy it and can afford it that's fine as long as you aren't hosing people whbe they're already dead . Personally I have 6 x 30rd mags for my g36 which I'll use between 1-2 times each and a pistol with 3 mags of which I'll only use one of them haha. So anywhere between 200 - 400 for a normal day out.

i think the 9k cam from the crazy wind and kept blowing rounds off targets so used a hell of allot more..

900-1000 tops. I only pull the trigger if I know it's gonna hit and even then it only takes 3-4 to get the message.

Don't know how you can go through 9k a day. That is madness.
As far as what's acceptable? Whatever you like I suppose.

As above. Whatever you feel like. Im currently using 74rnd mags. And wont use more than 3 a game. 74x3 = 222.
6 games. 222x6 = 1332. Thats pretty much a maximum.

I carry 5 120rd mags. Can't even remember the last time I used all them in a while days gaming.

I tend to carry 8x 120rnd mids. It's very rare I'll run out of ammo though.

I brought my mate along for his first game and supplied ammo for him for the day, between us I think we used about 1500 rounds? We were being sneaky buggers though...

I usually get through about 300 rounds a day when using a rifle.

Probably about 1.5K if being I'm using my support gun though.

If its a regular game and not milsim you really just have to do what makes you happy. Some twits in pristine multicam will look down their nose at you, but trolling them with hi-caps is great, guys who want everything to be milsim are worse than people who want every vampire movie to be Twilight. As said above, the only thing that people can have a legitimate grievance about is over-kill.

Personally I like to take out all the BBs I'll use loaded in mags on me, I have a bit of a bugbear about filling mags in skirmish.

I have done as little as 300 bbs in a day with a shotgun, and as much as 6k with an AEG (changing batteries at lunch).

I wouldn't say, unless you are overkilling or spraying aimless at players and ruining their fun, that you can have too much ammo.

Personally I take 7 pistol magazines loaded to 21bbs each and I rarely use more than 4-5, sometimes all 7 though.

Taking 5 as the average that means 105 a game and at 6 games a day that comes to 630. Not that many at all.

I have even had games were running forward observation and recon I have used a total of one mag getting out of a sticky situation but then that is just how I play .

Depends on the type of games you play. Even normal skirmish days can be BB fests, or quite tactical

For example, I can burn through the same/more amount of ammo before lunch at EAG Dorking than I do in a full day at GZ just because of the way the games are played

As others have said, I've got through 400 rounds in a day, Ive also shot through 4000 in a day, depends on the game really!

Yep definitely depends on game type, location, duration and if you're being tactical or Rambo.
But I'm now being uber tactical on my shooting as got hold of some .25 devil blaster in green so I'm now mixing them with white .25 devil blaster in a 3:1 ratio so 3 times the amount of green to white, very sneaky as the green nicely hides your position easily and the random white ones act as tracerish rounds to check trajectory.

ok lets put this in a game type like a capture the objective type game play lol i must stress that the wind may have been a big factor in why i used so much ammo lol
