  • TM m14 gears, metal or plastic?

    quick question

    TM m14

    are the gears nylon or metal?

    going to put an m120 in to run it to 425fps and i need to know if the standard gearset will survive an m120

    cheers

    They are metal.

    An M120 wont take you to 425.... an M140 will tho......

    If you are putting that much stress on it, you may want to consider upgraded to metal bushings, and perhaps a stronger piston.......

      An M120 = Around 400fps depending on make of spring.

      M140 = around 465fps depending on make of spring. (M1XX = metres per second, so 120 x 3.3 = 396).

      Really for anything over 400 you need to look at aftermarket torque gears.

          Did you really mean to ask if the gears are plastic? I want to know where you heard the use of plastic gears :S
          All i can think of is the star plastic gearbox.
