best holster for 1911
4 April, 2009, 16:22
hey everyone been using my viper thigh holster for a bit now and it is good but not a great fit for the 1911 as its a bit big so it wobbles and occassionally falls out, anyway was wondering if there was anything you could reccomend for a reasonable price
cheers,
rich

Yeap, if you're going thigh mounted then Serpa or Safariland, quite expensive but you can get decent replica safarilands for under £40. Ebay is a good option here, also try typing Bianchi 1911 into a search for a nice waist holster.

Re: best holster for 1911
The best 1911 holster I've used is a safariland.
The best budget one I've used is a fobus but theres not much retention so its not ideal for woodland.
If your viper holster is one of the adjustable ones you can fit a fobus inside it so you get better retention and can use it as a thigh holster.

Re: best holster for 1911
hah, quite... although i love calling it budget....
SERPA is a great belt or thigh platform, heck, shoulder platform... they go anywhere... modular fun.
The safariland as Evansy says is good, but im not a fan personally... they are dropleg only *BLEGH*, plus I personally hate the draw... each to thier own.

You can get safarilands as belt holsters too.
