Annoyed. People who clearly have no right to a RIf trying to convince me otherwise
14 August, 2014, 23:17
Some people just don't get it.
Yes you may be 18, yes you may have played airsoft a few time. But that's not a reasonable defence.
When I say im not selling it, why don't people get it?
Ive got a '0' poster private messaging me trying to convince me that I should sell a RIF to him.
Ive even had 'you can 2 tone it with colourful duct tape that I can easily remove [smilie=wink.gif]'
NO I CANT, and I wont. Why do people come on here and try so hard? do people actually sell to these idiots?
If your not in the community, you don't have a defence and you come across as a desperate idiot, then I wont sell to you.
Rant over!!
I know what i said because i was standing here when i said it.

Most definitely. The number of "which m4 should I get" threads has baffled me this year!

Like the guy on Facebook yesterday asking to 'borrow' someone's 'UKARA number' so he could buy a RIF

I have had exactly the same problem in the last few days with a guy with (0) harrass me to sell a gun without a defence and have now banned him from contacting me. Frustrating!

I take it people attempting to obtain a RIF illegally (ie without sufficient defence), isn't in itself a crime?
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

No it is not (unless they are under 18).
Buyers are perfectly entitled to ask to purchase a RIF. It is purely down to the seller to make sure that they satisfied themselves that the buyer is a regular skirmisher. It is the seller that will be breaking the law, not the buyer.

Re: Annoyed. People who clearly have no right to a RIf trying to convince me otherwi
I had a chap trying to get my to ship internationally the other day. And then getting a little exasperated that the best price I could find was £80. I felt things were not right, and rather than get into it with him just stopped replying. He too was a 0 poster.
In this case there are of course other ways to verify a defence (calling the site he plays at for example), but its your stuff, if you don't want to sell it to the guy you don't have to. And the "two tone it with tape" line just says GTFO to me.
I'm that unsure about the good faith of some buyers now that for higher value items I'm requiring a minimum feedback score so I don't get some twit who buys something and then picks holes in it trying to get a refund.

Re: Annoyed. People who clearly have no right to a RIf trying to convince me otherwi
I may still have it, but I had an abusive PM from some guy wanting to buy a UMP I had for sale, with no defence. He was rather angry that I wouldn't sell to him as he had no defence, because without me selling him a gun he couldn't skirmish, so how was he supposed to get a defence?

I've yet to have anyone kick off. but I do notice a lot of potential buyers have suddenly disappeared when I asked for thier ukara or other evidence of their defence

I love the one where they ask if it is still available and then never get back.
Or recently, I had a guy tell me he was interested... that's all. I was only able to respond with "ok!"

Surely a forum ban is in order for these people as other forums do?
