    Not sure most of the Chinese copies can drop to 0.5w, most I've seen do 5w and 1w.

    Then there's step size. Whilst some can do the right size some can't so you end up with a signal that's too powerful and not accurate enough, leaving all kinds of interference problems.

    Isn't scramble just a consumer name for sub channels?

      All the Chinese radios I've looked at where 5-1 watt but then I would be pleasantly surprised if the radios where actually anywhere near that, as everything that comes from chine is massively overrated like those "1800lm" torches.

      On analogue radio's the scramble is usually a voice inversion.
