Worth it?
20 April, 2010, 20:00
Hey,
am asking this for a friend,
Is the Star (Ares) MK46 worth it?
If not, which one is good?
Without many upgrades, lets say 100 total on upgrades...

Re: Worth it?
NO ! !
This is the gun that put me off ever buying Star/Ares, they have a crap gearbox imo.
It broke in 10 mins into its first skirmish, got it fixed and then it broke again !

Re: Worth it?
I have heard about the G&P version. Don't know what it's like but if its anything like there usual quality internally and externally it should be a beast of a gun.

Re: Worth it?
The G&P one is better, though not without flaws.
Be better off with a Classic Army M249Mk2 and then railing the front end.

Re: Worth it?
For 475, I'd get an A&K and mod the crap out of it, that way you can get exactly what you want for roughly the same price. The A&K gearbox is a treat to work on as well, probably the easiest
. Only what I would do anyway, it would need a lot of tweaking to get firing good

Re: Worth it?
The G&P uses a V2 gearbox IIRC, not what you'd want for a support weapon IF it's being used properly.
