Added Camo to my M4. Think it went well. What do you think?
1 July, 2015, 16:15
Hi all, I spent yesterday evening finally spraying my M4 AEG camouflage. I'd been mulling it over for a few weeks and decided to take the plunge. I've wanted to do it for a while as I regularly don camouflage and ambush unwary players and a black gun was a little obvious.
I thought i'd post some pics here and see what you guys think.
The M4 is an APS PR302. Quite a basic gun but has performed really well since I got her about a year ago.
I used Nuprol spray paint because that was all the shop had and I got brown, dark Earth and a khaki green colour. I have no idea what the proper names are because although there is enough writing on the can to keep you entertained for a day or two, for the life of me I couldn't see any reference to the colour. Best not muddle the lids up! I'll whack a review of the paint on a separate thread.
First of I broke the gun down to its component parts. I did a base coat of the DE on all the parts and allowed it to be touch dry. In yesterdays heat it was dry in five minutes or so. Then I used a mix of scrim and netting to cover the rifle parts and magazines and gave a gentle spray of a mix of the green and brown paints. It was then a matter of a light dusting spray of the green to take out some of the pattern and make it more random. Took a couple of hours to do it.
Here's the M4.

Here's the load out with my leafy kit to gauge how effective it is.

I reckon it's quite effective but would love your observations.

Cheers Big Red.
Got an evening game next week so I'll see how it looks in the field.

To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of camo guns, but I can tell a nice job when I see it! Might even convince me to look more into camo guns! Lovely job mate.
