  • ICS L85A2 over hopping

R.e. the above I've recently brought a second hand ics l85 and the hop adjustment doesn't seem to do anything. The rounds come out nice and straight for about 10 metres before soaring high up. I've tried feeding her .25's and .28's and I can't seem to notice any difference.

Is this an issue with the hop?

Please advise on what parts I'll need to obtain!

    Thanks in advance,

    Louis

It does seem like a hop issue; open it up and have a look down the barrel while adjusting the hop. Does the rubber move in and out of the barrel window properly? If it stays down, the rubber might have hardened or there may be an issue with the nub.

A bit of googling reveals that this may be a general problem with the ICS L85:

For a few quid I'd be changing the hop rubber, especially if that is the original in there.
Over time things like cleaning fluids etc may have hardened and slightly swollen the hop rubber resulting in not enough adjustment left. And while you are in there check that the hop adjustment is working and hasn't been damaged.
