Rifle damaged upon delivery
28 July, 2017, 09:34
Good morning all,
I'm seeking some advice on what to do having received a message from the reciepient of a GBBR which I sold to him.
I'd like to make it clear that there isn't any bad blood between myself and the buyer and I'm not suggesting any foul play; I'm solely looking for some opinions on what to do from those on the forum speaking independently.
Anyway...I sold this person a WE MSK which I'd owned for about a year and a half and having no issues with it at all. I sold it to the buyer having sent him a video of the rifle functioning fully, then packaged up everything in plenty of bubble wrap to keep in secure while In transit.
When it was received the buyer claimed he was happy with everything except the rifle had arrived with a broken nozzle.
The reason I'm asking for other people's advice in this case is because I can't see how a nozzle would split in this way while sitting in a box on the way to the buyer. From the images he sent, it looks like a BB has was sitting on the outer collar of the chamber when the bolt was returned forward causing the nozzle to split. It could've been an innocent mistake by him has he loaded the rifle for the first time. I have a reasonable amount of good feedback from other forum users suggesting I'm not an unscrupulous seller; once the video he requested was taken, the rifle went back into storage and wasnt fired again by myself before packaging everything up.
I'll post up the pictures of the nozzle when I can, but I'd appriciate some input on what you think I should do.
Thanks all!

Re: Rifle damaged upon delivery
On something like this take it with a pinch of salt. Nozzle isn't that expensive so offer half of the cost of it.
I had similar with a mag which needed a new valve as it was sticking and I bought the guy a new one.
With GBBR's ALOT of people are completely clueless which also means this happens alot.
Offer half for the nozzle and leave it at that.

^ more than fair. It's very easy to break a nozzle if you don't know what you're doing.

Re: Rifle damaged upon delivery
First of all well done for making the video etc, as above its only a nozzle so split the difference, what I don't understand is people buying gbb guns who have no idea what they are about, imo they are a specialised bit of kit and owners should have at least a basic knowledge of maintenance and operation

I'm not assuming the buyer was clueless at all...could have been an honest mistake but anyway, thanks for the input guys.

Re: Rifle damaged upon delivery
I was implying that someone should have enough savvy to either not break it in the first place or be able to sort it out themselves without flagging up issues

Re: Rifle damaged upon delivery
If i were the buyer - i would be satisfied with 1/2 of the nozzle, or you to source one of your choice (if there are cheaper than OEM ones available)
As you made a vid to show it wasn't you, i'd say it's more than fair.
