  • FPS Formular

    Hi guys,

    I want to calculate my aegs fps on a .2 bb

    It shoots 270 fps on a .28 guarder bb.

    Anyone know what that equates to? I'm sure it's about 330 but would like a sure figure

    Re: FPS Formular

    thats about 335-340 as mine was firing 265-270 on .28s and on .2s it was 335-340. i dont think the make will make much difference and the weight will be the same along the board.

      Re: FPS Formular

      Theres an article on arnies about this, using it I got;

      0.28g+270fps=0.94joule

      0.94joule+0.2g=318.01fps

        it will never work out accurately... air displacement, barrel length, barrel diameter all come into play..

                    http://www.pegatiros.com/airsoft/CalculadoraFPS.htm

                    First value is BB weight, second FPS.

                    It'll give you:
                    Velocity in m/s, Energy in joules and pressure in feet per inch.

                    Once you've got the energy in joules, change the weight to 0.2 and the FPS until you get the same energy.

                      Re: FPS Formular

                      Force = Mass/2 x Velocity squared

                      Where Force = Joules, Mass = Kg, Velocity = M/S

                      Convert fps to ms then stick in your numbers.

                      If your using .28 bbs and it is shooting at 270 fps:

                      270 fps = 82.3 ms
                      (0.00028/2) x (82.3*82.3)
                      0.00014 x 6773.29 = 0.95 Joules

                      Rearranging the equation using a bb weight of .2g will give you:

                      0.95J = (0.0002/2) x (MS^2)
                      MS^2 = 0.95 / 0.0001
                      MS^2 = 9500
                      MS = 97.47
                      FPS = 319.78

                      So using .2g will give you 320 FPS.

                      Obviously not taking into account any other factors.

                        I take it by 'Force' you mean 'Energy'. Force is in Newtons.
