cyma AK74u's - any gd?
30 July, 2010, 23:14
I really fancy one of these as a backup to my l96.
I seen one that comes with folding stock, full metal and wood and quite fancy it especially fitted with an acog,
Whats peoples reviews on the gun? And whats the first thing to replaces / upgrade usually?

There very good guns, could maybe do with a little clean inside, maybe a new spring.
Then some upgrades to what you feel could need improving ( If you dont like the range, better hop-up etc. )

Talk to KommisarBoris mate, he's your man here, think the only "issue" with it is the folding stock can be wank due to not having a full bolt to go through the aeg due to the gearbox being in the way. Pretty much think they are your best bet unless you go for a real sword.

They need a good degrease and reshim out of the box. Along with a lower powered spring. They work fine don't get me wrong. But the amount of grease the put in one gearbox is sufficient for about 5-6

Another option would be the Kalash version. The newer ones are nearly full steel.
There's one for sale on the forum at the moment.

Thanks but I can't really afford to spend over £130 on one hence going cyma.

£125 and I think Boris would point you towards the Kalash,

That's the one I was thinking of Pope.
I've already got the GBBR version and I was giving this one serious consideration as well.

Re: cyma AK74u's - any gd?
yeah, when it comes to chinese ak's its fairly simple.
kalash for 74's.
cyma for pre 74's (47, aims, akms) and their ak74su, its very good.
jg are ok, some find them good, but i always found cyma and kalash to be better.
all need downgraded.
cyma 101's and 105's are pretty kewl too, i'm tempted with one as a next perchase.
