Price Justification
19 August, 2010, 19:22
i was shopping on the internet recently, and it occured to me how insanely overpriced some items are
for example, magpul MBUS's. at £70 a pop for a pair of sights, i would want them gold plated!
it just makes me real angry sometimes that we are being exploited so much. i guarantee that £70 would cover the production of 5 of these and still give spare change

Re: Price Justification
you live on an island.
The EU hate us.
...We hate the EU (unless you're a hill-sheep farmer).
The US has an oversized paddling pool between us and them.
Asia has too much landmass between us, as well as Europe and water.
And the customs like our cash too.

Re: Price Justification
You sure it's not just because people are willing to pay that price?
I'm not sure we can blame immigrants, the EU, Tony Blair and computer games for this one!

Well, we kinda have to. I don't really trust buying abroad.

Same as posted above, there's all sorts of shipping costs and taxes to pay when shipping products here to supply shops sadly.

Kind of your problem twice there :D
1. Weapons will work without Magpul parts, I kid you not!
2. I'd rather trust some of the big HK sites rather than half the UK dealers!

Re: Price Justification
I think a lot of Airsoft gear is over priced and a lot of it even the expensive stuff is pretty badly made, I don't know anyone who hasn't had to change or fix something with there gun but we continue pay full whack for stuff so more fool us

Re: Price Justification
Thats the price you pay for real steel parts out of the US, first of all products have to be licenced for out of US sales. Then your paying EU entry tax CCT and the paying local VAT plus the costs of shipping and the the fact the retailer in question actually wants to make some form of profit. It sucks major donkey balls, but is the way it is.
I want to get a new scope rail for my real M14, US price £300, UK price £450. How, why! Second hand Ar-15 £1000 brand new US $1000 it hurts.

Re: Price Justification
its harsh as the uk retailers get a hard time when they only make a small profit on that part and all they are trying to do is keep afloat. Yet still invest in all the new products airsofters demand and never buy.

£10 more for a genuine product (magpul MBUS) vs £60 for a replica product (KA Troy buis/Hurricane HK sights) Doesn't seem that bad to me.
This may be news to you but airsoft isn't cheap and that goes double when you start with accessories.

Dude, "RAWR" is dinosaur for "I love you" XD
Anyway, retailers aim to make the profit they can to keep their business afloat whilst supplying the market with the demands they make. Looking at all the rational arguements for UK retailers charging what they need too, you should try living in places where it's even worse! Heck, trying living in Australia, no Airsoft there mate.
