systema revolution gearbox, best thing after ptw?
12 May, 2009, 19:48
hey guys n gals,
was looking at the complete mechboxes from systema and came across the revolution boxes any one know if theyre any good? they are more electrically controlled with mosfets and bits instead, also they can handle m170 springs! the trigger unit is called an E.C.U (dunno what it stands for), there are optical sensors in it so it always knows what position the gears and piston are in, they are programmed so they also do 3 round bursts (and apparently you can programme it to fire any amount) but theres quite a hefty price tag, anyway if you have any more info on them or own one please post.

I'd love to get my hands on one, I really would... For free though!

I have one. It was excellent for about 2 hours. Its been dead in the water ever since, waiting on a replacement wiring loom.
You may see one going up for sale pretty soon!
Skippie has a couple and, I believe, he is very happy with his.

There are 2 variants :- the 3-geared, and 4-geared.
The 4 geared allows mega-high torque applications:- +m170

seem great until it goes wrong, i reckon you are better off just upgrading a regular gearbox, i mean "light sensors to detect gear position" that sounds expensive to fix!
also, just because it is systema doesnt mean it is actually the best, i wouldn't use their pistons and in all honestly you can buy better electronics parts seperately much cheaper

To be fair, it was brilliant when it was running.
Since Ive gone back to my super-reliable V2 with AB mosfet setup, Im not sure its brilliant enough to keep hold of when fixed!

Re: systema revolution gearbox, best thing after ptw?
i just properly checked them out...we need to wait for some really good detailed "applications" to be seen...
i mean, the motor is supposed to be outrageous and the new designs does minimise mechanical parts, but the PTW motor was supposed to be amazing too....it wasnt
i like really high ROF, less mech parts is good, but i just dont think it will be as good as it looks.
where could i get hold of one if i wanted to?

these use redesigned pistons which apparently work better

Re: systema revolution gearbox, best thing after ptw?
thats should improve the biggest systema flaw then...that motor seems nice aswell, better than the notoriously bad PTW motor.
does anyone know where i could get hold of one?

Re: systema revolution gearbox, best thing after ptw?
i had a go with one these 2 weeks ago its just like shooting a ptw (yes ive owned a ptw) if anything its probly better as the motors are the decent systema type not the shitty ptw version. and deff cheaper than a ptw wepon plus you can shove it in you fav m4
.
only thing is youll probley still need to get the cuircit boards treated for the damp
sends ptw,s nuts when thay get damp
hello
