hmm hard to tell cos you cant see that back but i think i can see an m4 charging handle so some sort of m4 maybe??? with a crazy bit on the front haha

Its not a real gun, they took real weapons and bolted stuff on to make them look futuristic.

they basically just took an m4,stuck an acog and an eotech on there, then made their own random grenade launcher handguard attatchment. i bet one or two airsoft gun building maniacs on this forum could probably make something like that

To be fair we are talking about gigantic transforming robots. So I'm pretty sure thats not real.

NEST was a multi national team.
Its not a grenade launcher either, the bottom attatchment is a torch, the main barrel fires something, but thats fictional anyway.

You could try to recreat by using a Short barrel m4 with a firepig on the end and then a metal sleeve type thing over the top, not dificult to do if you have the tools

as others have said its basically a big heatshield... and going as logically as you can for a film involving big robots from another planet..

it'd probably be something like a .50 cal m4 like the Alexander Arms .50 Beowulf going from the size of the muzzle break..

then again its daylight and he's using a PVS-14 variant with no lens cover so :P
