MP5 compatibility
25 April, 2020, 17:36
Hi all
I run a TM MP5 (one of the early ones) but it's in SD format
I'd like the option to swap out the front end to a A4 style setup
What brands are compatible with TM?
CYMA
JG
I read Classic army??
Pretty sure ICS you have to change the entire furniture as.they have a slightly different setup (break down differently, easier and better unlike the TM which you have to strip to its bare bones)
Many thanks

As the Jing Gong is a direct copy of the TM one would think it should be ok with them (certainly true of the M16/M4’s) , also would be very surprised if the Cyma wasn’t a copy of the TM as well . As to CA parts couldn’t comment as they are original makers and not ‘cloners’ like the other two .
hope this helps .

Looks like I'm keeping my eyes out for a JG or CYMA

Old ICS are also the same. whether you go for JG, classic army or ICS (old style) you'll need a cocking tube assembly, front sight, inner barrel clamp and handguard. you can sometimes get full upper sets as well but they get expensive. Metal kits regardless of brand are really hard to find anywhere in stock. some have them overseas but shipping is expensive.
