Continuing story of my MP5K.
1 October, 2010, 19:58
I had some time on my hands this afternoon, so I thought I would do something usefull and try and get some life into the supposed super dooper wizzo fast motor that turned out to be a very very high torque motor. Still a bit wheezy, so the following brightened up my afternoon.
So I made this:
As thin as the wire looks it is Turnigy 16awg on the new loom, with 12awg as standard on my batteries.
And onto it I put these:
then this is what happened:

Re: Continuing story of my MP5K.
It's not that fast really...
Same as my old AK, difference being this is 14.8v 20C 1750mAh, my old AK did the same with a G and P M160 motor and a tiny 1200mAh 20C 11.1v stick.

Re: Continuing story of my MP5K.
The gear box is modified to cope with the speed, just needs a faster motor.
I would actually expect the gear box to run faster if I took this motor out replacing it with an Element Max Speed and using my smaller 11.1v 2800mAh 30C.

Not with my gun you won't....lol
There are people who run 18.5V LiPo's using high torque motors. Running over 40rps at close to 400fps.

D: Midas, dude, that thing is evil. I really wouldn't want to see that on the opposing side without some range against it!

Re: Continuing story of my MP5K.
When you add batteries, is it the MAH or V which increases?
I know one stays the same, (assuming the batteries are all identrical ofcourse).

Re: Continuing story of my MP5K.
It depends which way you connect them. As my lead at the top it is in series so Voltages are added together.
If you connect both +'s together on one tab and both -ve's together on the other it is the mAh that is added together and it's parralel connection.
For paralell packs they must be the same and the same state of charge and can be charged as one pack. It can take a few minutes for them to stabalise which can include heating up. So you have to be carefull.
