Dispute
17 October, 2010, 15:06
Where do I post asking for assistance with a dispute?
I tried posting in the Lost Souls room to have it removed. It's daft to just delete threads without actually telling the person the reason because they can't learn what they did wrong as the posts gone!
Especially when they have been looking for hours over the damn forum to find a suitable room to post in and there isn’t one! There should be a room for the classifieds section for disputes i.e. items not arriving.
I'm trying to get help with an item I paid for weeks ago and the seller is completely ignoring my PM's.
I know this for a fact as he's very active on these forums and I’ve even seen him private messaging yet still has not replied to my past PM's for where my item is.
Any assistance would be appreciated and if this is in the wrong place feel free to tell me where to put it before it has the delete button just pressed and then walked on by as I’m trying to get my money back now.
I bought and paid for an Xbox controller about 3 weeks ago. Seller claimed he was on business hence the delay posting which I was fine with, still nothing the following week and now PM's are ignored.

Re: Dispute
Do you mean this thread?
http://www.zeroin.co.uk/showthread.php?t=73789
That was never actually removed.
As for advice on what to do,
http://www.zeroin.co.uk/showthread.php?t=11989
that thread might help you.

Re: Dispute
As far as Im aware, Zero One and the Zeroin forums accept no responsibility whatsoever for any trades taking place via their forums. Did you pay via paypal? If you did, pretty much the only thing you can do is open a paypal dispute. To do this go to your paypal account and find the transaction, then click the "open dispute button"

Oh yes i know they dont accept responsibility. I'm just asking for advice. It's not a huge amount £13 but to be honest i did want the controller and if he's not going to send it i would rather have the £13 back...

Re: Dispute
I think youve got to wait 30 days before you can open a dispute... or something like that...

Re: Dispute
you have to open the dispute within 45 days of transaction date. theres then a 20 day period for you to resolve the problem with the seller. assuming that they'll ever reply of course

Well according to iTrader 10,231 feedbacks have been left. Bearing in mind iTrader came on here only March this year.
That is just about 6 months ago, potentially 2 pieces of feedback per transaction. However from experience, only about half people leave feedback.
Therefore, I'm going to take a guess at something like 15,000 - 20,000 deals take place on this forum a year. So compare the number of "bad transaction" threads a week to the ~340 deals a week that go on

Re: Dispute
it's a valid point but i've got 600 (100%) positive feedback on that well known auction site and have only ever had 1 problem. of my ten or so transactions on here, this is the 3rd which has gone a bit bent. the other 2 were sorted amicably and may just have been errors. that's a high percentage, and how many people actually bother to complain?

Re: Dispute
I do lol,
If I get out of pocket I want it back lol. On a side note if you ever can't find a thread you've started / written in then go to your profile and search all your posts. You can easily find it there :D, it's happened to me before.
As people have said though, if you've done it through paypal and decided you need to dispute it then open a claim. I just sold my Focus on ebay and the guy messed me around with excuses for a week then the day he said he was coming I waited in for hours and he never showed, now never replies tro messages or phonecalls so I'm in the same process, but from the other side lol.
Get the dispute open mate and let him have time to reply. Maybe he is away and just cant get it sent out. Give him a few days and see what happens though. I know how u feel, you've bought the item and you want it NOW! See what happens.

Re: Dispute
so. as advised, i opened a paypal dispute on sunday. within the hour i had a message from the seller. he said that he'd post the item next day by speacial delivery. he did and i got it today. apparently he couldn't do any trade with paypal and i presume that means e**y as well. so 3 weeks of nothing and ignoring pms and then suddenly my forend(?) is here. he said that "he just hadn't got around to it". thats after the "i'll post tomorrow mate" 3 weeks ago. paypal dispute? recommended

Re: Dispute
As I've said in other similar threads, opening a Paypal dispute does generally give people the kick up the backside they sometimes need.
