Whats the best all metal, full licensed/marked M4 out now
16 February, 2024, 06:57
Hi all,
Hope you're keeping and shooting well.
I'm in the market for a rifle, M4/AR based, and want one thats full metal and fully marked / licensed and that's worth the money.
Ideally with ebb just to add a little feal (appreciated nothing like gbb) and reasonably good out the box. happy to be upgrading internals later, but the externals are more important now, albeit want to be able to use it as is without getting arsy with it as won't hit what I point at
I like HK 416 and 417 and the Sig MCX Virtus for looks, but never handled. If that helps. Slim, tactical style I guess. Very keen on having a bolt stop / stop firing on empty feature.
Keen to try and use normal mags, or least ones I can stock up on with breaking the bank.
Budget wise, I'd like to keep sensible, not after a £1800 training rif, it's just to play games with, but I'm not opposed to paying where its worth it. Max say £750, unless the extra is good value.
Spent the last few weeks trawling reviews etc, most are I suspect biased and not real, so wonder if there any pointers or suggestions please? your real experience is worth so much more and I'd like to tap it
Thanks all, and straight shooting!

So in case helps anyone else searching... I've ruled out the 416 and mcx, went to a shop on Sunday as game was rained off and was underwhelmed by the 416 and though liked the sig, I didn't like the fit. Stock was too short and my finger got in the way of the right sight fire selector. Obvs just me and my shape etc, if you have little arms or like a short length, the sig seemed great, albeit I didn't shoot it.
So to find something else now...

Sparowhawk, I think the 416 was a cheapish spec arms one I think but might be wrong and there was another that I don't recal, perhaps bolt, which had an old school hand guard I didn't like, defo prefer the more modern stuff. I don't think either was full licensed / marked up which I missed!
Ukpred, thanks, but i litterally only need a rifle and perhpas a battery to suit if my current ones wont fit the new rifle. If I buy anymore gear I'd have to sell it and the rest to fund the divorce! Good luck with the sale though.

Vfc have really good externals but sometimes need a few parts changed inside the gearbox, most people would suggest a next gen from TM, I have a TM 416 delta custom in tan and it's really nice, I did buy it second hand,in immaculate condition, used twice, completely upgraded for 60% it's original costs, only thing I changed was the stock for a PTS EPS, as it's an exact colour match and you can put a really big lipo battery inside, it wasn't really a gamble for me to buy 2nd because I used to be an airsoft tech for another company and so I'm very comfortable working on them if there was any issues, but there hasn't been so far
here's a good WhatsApp group if you are interested in a next gen

That's a nice looking shoota Sparowhawk, I like looks a lot better than what I saw at the weekend.
Saw a used one for sale that seems reasonable value with some extras included, a TM ngrs, in Ireland, so not sure if there be any customs issues or charges to be applied which might make too expensive then, will get to googgling...
Thanks for all the inputs. Will look into VFC to

Well check out the WhatsApp group, you will find some great bargains as the second hand market is really weak at the moment so prices are very competitive
