dboys pdw peq box annoyance
1 November, 2010, 11:49
hey guys, hopfully in the next few days i should be aquiring a dboys pdw. but i cant help but prematurly think about what im going to do to the peq box. i dont like them.
it wouldnt get on my nerves so much if it had a torch or laser but it doesnt, well back to the point. ive heard of people removing the gas tube in the front on the ris and sliding a small lipo in there.... has anyone on here done this? please post underneath what you done and how hard it was.
another question i have is, can the dboys pdw take different stocks? e.g. can the pdw take an m4 tactical stock.
if anyone has any idea of how i can power this gun without haveing a peq box on the side please share.
cheers cw

Re: dboys pdw peq box annoyance
I know people will shout "use the search function", but it doesn't work when there are only three characters to search i.e PDW
So, here is one link for you Sir.
http://www.zeroin.co.uk/showthread.php?t=60333
In fact, the little PEQ15 boxes are not too bad. I have a stack of them loaded with different lipo packs so it makes battery changes and charges very easy. It also means you can safely carry a spare lipo with you in games
And no, you can't fit a different stock. Even if you could, if you wanted an M4 stock, you might as well have bought an M4 in the first place

People will also shout that you should read the stickies as well

I rear wired mine and use the VFC single point battery sling for it. It's a bit of a PITA not being able to drop the gun so easily but much easier than the issues I had with the RA Tech lipo conversion

if you do use a peq i advise not using a dboys one, mine fell to bits, i know, "its essentially a plastic box how does a plastic box fall to bits", well...it does.
i have an ICS one now and its fantastic, has room for a laser too.

Re: dboys pdw peq box annoyance
ive always hated PEQ boxes, and i got hold of a dboys pdw the other day, with a few minor upgrades possibly one of my favourite guns ive owned, the peq box i put on the bottom of the ris then put the forgrip on the peq box, you hardly notice it once youve used it a few times!

Re: dboys pdw peq box annoyance
I would go for a more "higher end" brand than DBOYS mainly because their PEQs seem to be made of plastic similar to the quality of a pound shop plastic catering cup. Easy to break and really tacky.
Some you can get actually have a laser on them but still enough room for the battery, these really do look the business as they are full size and carry enough Battery power that they can last a good day.
This Post may contain my opinions and if you disagree with them Tough S**T!

Re: dboys pdw peq box annoyance
Most of mine are straight forward VFC boxes and other than a spot of super glue at the seam where the wires exit, they are great. I've just bought a laser version here and will let you know how it goes.
But, I have never managed to make one battery last a whole day other than on milsims, but that's not what PDWs are about
Try one ( not DBoys maybe) with a systema turbo and an 11.1v
Listen with a grin while the opposition mock your tiny weapon, then watch them run when they hear the first burst

Re: dboys pdw peq box annoyance
My m8 uses a short madbull launcher with the hole coverd up to carry his battery in, works well and looks better than a peq box.
