Matt- the priority was already answered - I am not going to pay £100 to carry only 200 rounds into the field. I never carry any spare BB's with me (I hate rattling) so the answer for me is to either get a load of the cheap TM mags (if they come up) or I keep my mids. I will however buy one TM mag anyway just to make the gun look nice on the mantlepiece (IMO).

Not sure constructing mags from scratch would work. I at least need to get one TM mag so I can see how they are laid out internally. It may even be that the fake rounds take up most of the internal space anyway. If I do manage to cram a worthwhile amount of additional rounds inside I will be sure to let everyone know how it's done
