change of image

At what point does an upgraded AEG cast off it’s old image and become something new, for instance I have one of the much maligned Classic Army P90 SPORTLINE models. I have upgraded it considerably and it is a very different animal from the gun I first got. It has had the following.
Tight bore barrel
TM hop up rubber and bucking
Modified hop up unit
New Piston
New piston Head
New cylinder
New cylinder Head
New anti reversal Latch
New gearbox springs
New gears
New bearings
New main spring
New spring guide
New nozzle
New tappet plate
New gear delayer
New cut off lever
Mosfett fitted
Re-shimmed
New upper receiver (from red dot to tri rail metal)
I have had some major feeding issues with it but I think now I have them sorted and in fairness after much internet research I have found that this isn’t just restricted to Sportline P90’s. But if this was yours would you still call it a sportline model or refer to it as a upgraded P90. You know sort of a P90GTI

Re: change of image
Call it a P90 I suppose!
If you were selling, you'd still describe it as a "Sportline with the following upgrades...." though.

Well the Change of image title was a reference to the content of the post, regarding peoples opinions of makes of gun. Sportline is generally sneered at and treated with the contempt more often reserved for fans of the twilight series and x factor contestants. My point was if you buy a gun and seriously upgrade it does it change peoples perception of the product knowing it has been upgraded, or do people, as is the case here, still regard it at face value and recommend other brands over it.

I have an axe. it's had three new handles and two new heads, but I've never replaced the whole axe. It is therefore my original axe.:D

Re: change of image
I'm sure as you have changed to externals and the majority of the internals you could get away with "custom" P90, Just make sure you state what base you built it up from.
