Pelican style/clone cases?
19 January, 2011, 11:37
Are these manufactured anywhere? I like the design of a Peli case, but I'm not prepared to pay £150-200 for one. It's the "deep" nature of them I like, as opposed to some of the "shallower" cases.

Maplin do a 'high impact case' that doesn't look a million miles off.

That looks fantastic, but would it fit an M4?

I doubt it would fit an M4. Ive just got myself and my best mate pelicases and to be perfectly honest for just over £200 its well worth it.

I'm sure that they're well worth it, but I can't/don't have the money for one...

Thats exactly what i thought.
I'm thinking of getting one for mine, and was planing on storing it with the upper and lower split. I've measured my lower and as long as it's at least 60cm wide, or 60cm across the hypotenuse, then it would fit.
I submitted a question on the maplin site asking for the internal dimensions, just waiting for them to post the reply.
Edit: just noticed you've got a 119, so your barrel will be longer than my M4, so you'll have to measure your upper and see what length it is.

Re: Pelican style/clone cases?
This is the issue I have, either the boxes are:
-Designed for shotguns or airguns and look utterly shite, with little protection
-Or designed survive a bomb going off 30cm away

Re: Pelican style/clone cases?
i know...i just want a box thats not too big,not too small, not too heavy, has some wheels and a handle...can carry a couple of guns and a few bits n bobs...wont fall apart when you look at it....but isnt bomb proof....and doesnt cost more than the contents thats inside....
maybe theres a gap in the market for any entrepreneur amoung us

Re: Pelican style/clone cases?
I'm in the market for a case that will hold a masada, a short barrel kit, a supressor, a RIS foregrip, an aimpoint and an ACOG all in cutouts... I think it might end up costing a fair bit...

Although you'll only need one, so it's a sound investment.
