hk416 sniper

hey guys, im kinda thinking of trying to make a hk416 sniper, everything is going fine except the front end i.e the outer barrel, i currently have the small cqb front end and i want to make it much longer that what it is at present, now as i see it could do 2 things.

1, buying a outer barrel extension, simple screw on the end jobby or,

2, buy a new outer barrel,

i want to try number 2 tbh but i have a few questions, does the outer barrel have to a specific type i.e hk brand?

also (anyone with a hk416 will know) when you undo the ris clamp bolt and slide of the ris you are left with the outer barrel, on the outer barrel there is a bit where the front sight is attached, will i be able to take this piece of metal off and attach it to the new longer barrel?

any help would be greatly appreicated.

Just so you know, a longer barrel won't affect your accuracy as much as you might think. It does in Real Steel guns, but is more aesthetic in airsoft
