Clone serpa holster manufacturer???

Hi Guys,

Does anybody know any names of the manufactures of serpa clones?

For example a clone of surefire m961 torch is the element m961.

Iv tried looking on google and ebay for clones however i cant come up with any.

they come branded as either china, clone or acm so have no idea who manufactures them. they probably don't want to put there name in it so blackhawk don't sue their arses

The "clones" come with the Blackhawk trades.

Would not surprise me at all if they made in the same factory as the "real" ones.

It always makes me chuckle when people say "its made in the same factory" that does not = the same product.

Engineering and manufacture have a lot more to them than having something made up on a machine. Whilst i've worked in mechanical design and engineering, product design & manufacture is not dissimilar. Someone will have to design it, spec materials, draw it up, find a manufacturer (or do it themselves). Have it made, QC it, FAT it to specs. These stages are all integral to the design and successful implementation of something. Whilst cloned equipment may have the same appearance, i it's form, fit and function are lacking somewhere (and so is the price, to be fair).

Of the design/manufacture process, there is a reason companies here will farm the machining somewhere cheaper, but still must retain designers, engineers and specialists. Because those making it cheaper, in other countries cannot match the skills.

OK let me rephrase....

It's the same product.

Besides, when we are talking SERPA's, it's not exactly something that requires much skill to make. Pick one up, make a mold, off you go!

99% of manufactured goods comes from china....whats to stop the factory who produces them from making bootlegged copies?

Besides, when we are talking SERPA's, it's not exactly something that requires much skill to make. Pick one up, make a mold, off you go!

Make a mould? the tooling has to come from somewhere, the design for that tooling. The tolerances have to be speccd to fit said gun, the materials need to last, it has to adhere to standards and various countries regulations. . It's not the same product it is something made as close as they can, with a lower price point so it sells.

This isn't a bad thing, but regardless, they are not the same.

is all china made actually a company then? i had assumed retailers just used that for a chinese product with no set manufacturer. for instance I have seen the clone serpas stated as ACM serpa.

Same materials? same testing and QC? (assuming the original company has a decent system). I doubt it. Like i said, a lot of thigns are made abrod (in particular china) but there are still mechanisms in place that develop a worthy product.

a manufacturing company could produce the item to the exact standards quite easily...they make/save their money through the economies of scale....if they sold me 1000 items for £3 each...and i sold them for £10 each i take my profit...however they would reduce their manufacturing costs by producing 2000 items,(getting the raw materials at a cheaper price) and selling the extra 1000 at £5 each direct from their warehouse or through a local distribution network via the internet
