26 January, 2011, 21:11
Hello all, looking to convert an M14 so it looks like this, all the front end is sorted but wanted to know if anyone could name the rear end at all?
Thanks

Looks like an EBR, but its not, possibly the DMR version, Id say the sliding stock has a converter fitted but Iv never seen one.
section 24 of the 1968 Act

1)It is an offence for a person under the age of eighteen to purchase an imitation firearm
2)It is an offence to sell an imitation firearm to a person under the age of eighteen.

Re: M14 sliding stock - whats it called?
Thats a custom job. It uses the back end mounts of an EBR (with a custom M4 stocktube conversion; similar to the EBR Mod 1, but looks like a customhouse job), Vltor stock, and the front off a Knights DMR with a Troy full rail system. You could make one I suppose (with considerable difficulty), but I doubt you'd see change out of £2000.

Actually the Real Steel stock (ie what would be wood) can be bought for $500 USD, inclusive of the VLTOR stock, before shipping. Of course, RIS an other stuff is extra.

Re: M14 sliding stock - whats it called?
Unless it's a GBB I wouldn't fancy the chances of getting it to fit.
Also, I've yet to find a US manufacturer/trader that will openly/legally sell and ship large parts like recievers and stocktubes to someone in the UK. As I remember it right Muzzy had his Sage EBR kit mailed as car parts.
I'd like to be corrected on that issue though.

Yep and yep. Only chances are if you have a friend who'll ship it over (as car parts for example).

My opinion is there's too much RIS on things these days.
Where did originality and plain Jane disappear off to?

I can't comment really on that, my M14 has more rail on than that... Haha.
Wouldn't mind a normal M14 Socom with an Aimpoint though.

I'm not a rail man myself. That said, I use a TM MAC 10 so not much of a choice :p

Re: M14 sliding stock - whats it called?
Just buy a G&P DMR Kit and the G&P Knights RIS kit. Should do most of the job.
