Metal midcaps
1 July, 2009, 21:47
I am looking for some recommendations for some good metal midcaps for M16/M4.
They will actually be for my Type 89, but I may well be changing that for a G&P M4, hence the generic mid caps and not the Type 89 metal standards.
I would also prefer them to be for sale in the UK.

Re: Metal midcaps
CA all the way. I've got 8 AEGs which use AR-15 mags and I've not had a problem with any of them using CA mids.
They do feed a little slower than MAG ones but as long as you dont have silly ROF (running an 11.1 lipo for example) then you shouldnt have a problem.
G&P also make metal mids but they're very hit and miss with feeding and cost alot more than the box sets of CA mids..

Re: Metal midcaps
All of the TM ones I've had have fed flawlessly through my mk18 which has a pretty high ROF, same can be said for my CA ones but not for my G&P which barely feeds. I also got some Chinese metal lo caps (I know thats not what you asked for but in case you feel like more realism before you by
) which feed fine but the springs stick quite far out of the end when theyre empty :P.
If you change your mind and go for plastics - my STAR expendable plastic lo caps I had had to be pressed up into the gun to feed properly but otherwise werent a problem so I imagine their mids would be similar.
All except the chinese metal lo caps can be bough in the UK
Hope this helps.

Re: Metal midcaps
G&Ps fit perfectly in the Type 89, unlike their AK mags, these feed reliably>My Type 89 is currently at 21rps and i don't recall any feeding issues.

I'll add another vote for G&P midcaps. Feed flawlessly.
