Re: Silicone spray or 3 in 1.
do not use silicone grease or oil on any metal to metal moving parts as this will actually increase wear, silicone= metal to plastic or plastic to plastic

Re: Silicone spray or 3 in 1.
As said silicon on rubber seals and White lithum on metal working parts
The 3 in 1 is just a brand from b&q it's nearly pure silicone spray lube

This.
3 in 1 will eat bits of your gun so keep that well away.

Re: Silicone spray or 3 in 1.
Traditional 3inOne (the brand) oil contains petroleum distillates, which are bad for rubber and plastic parts. The same goes for WD40 (which is why you shouldn't use it to lubricate bike cables as they're nylon lined... it's more solvent than lubricant).
The 3inOne brand also make a white lithium grease, which I find very good for metal on metal lubrication (gears, slides etc). I also use this for metal on plastic, but not for O-rings (I use a plumbers silicone grease applied very sparingly). I generally use silicone spray just for a misting inside cylinders.
The white lithium grease comes as a spray, but it's too aggressive, so spray it on a piece of card then pick a little up at a time.
I do use traditional 3inOne, but only very sparingly on my steel Mac11 trigger parts...if it's good enough for real guns...
By the way, the 3inOne brand is owned by WD40, not B&Q
