Battery & Charger help
16 July, 2009, 12:52
Ok this is the charger I have, just a simple one I got free with a gun once,
This is whats wrote on it
Title: AC/DC ADAPTOR
MODEL: HJ-103
INPUT: AC 220V 50/60Hz
OUTPUT: DC 7.2v 250mA
Right now the battery Im getting is..
8.4V 2200mAh 4/5SC NiMH Battery Stick Pack. (3x2 + 1)
Heres a link with a bit more info-
removed
My question is, will that charger charge the battery properly for now untill I get a better charger? I no it will take about 12.30 hours to, but I was just wondering because the charger has 7.2v but the battery is 8.4v.
I really dont know anything about batterys and chargers, just need to know so I dont show up to a game and the batt die straight away,
Cheers :\

Re: Battery & Charger help
Not 100% but i think you may need a charger rated at the same voltage as the battery.
I have a pro peak charger,fast/ slow charge, discharges and can be run from a bike or car battery. Charges all i have, and i use a mix of 8.4 and 9.6.
I also have a spare trickle charger you can have for the cost of postage if you want it.
Will charge 8.4 no probs.

Re: Battery & Charger help
Nope. That'll only charge 6 of the 7 cells in your pack, potentially doing huge damage to it.
Most likely outcome is that it just won't charge properly, but don't take the risk of completely mucking up a new battery.

Re: Battery & Charger help
I used a 7.2v charger on a 8.4v pack for a while, with no noticeable damage at the time.
I wrote a little guide to charging here:

Hope it helps.
