        Re: import tax

A lot of HK sites are generous with the declared value of a package, so you might be ok.

Anything over £18 declared is subject to import tax (17.5% I think). More annoyingly the courier will often charge you for the pleasure of sending it via customs, which is £18 or £36 depending on value. If they have put it is a replica firearm on the front, might bring a little more attention, so you might have to prove your defence.

Most packages though sail right through, so fingers crossed!

hmmm bit of a stinger really. maybe cheaper actually buying in the Uk dare i say that

when u say prove my defence surely giving my UKARA details to customs would resolve this?

              Re: import tax

it is not a fixed sum but a percentage.

              15% VAT + 3.5% Import duty.

That is what i got from Customs. Commodity code 9303900000

I have never been taxed in all the things ive bought from oversea's apart from one time. I bought a pair of custom K-swiss trainers which ironically enough was one of the first things I'd ever bought online.

That was many moons ago and I've never been taxed since.

That's pretty dangerous considering the VCRA
