Silver tercel 1911

Can anyone tell me what the finish is like on the silver tercel 1911? Is the silver just a coating?

Im looking at polishing one up and thought i'd better check first. Pics would be a great help if someone has one.

All will be the colour of metal underneath.
So if the tercel has a silver coating then you can still polish the metal below it.

Best thing to do if unsure is try under the slide first so you dont ruin the outside.

Yeah I know, I've polished a M9 with chrome polish before and its a fair bit of work.

Just trying to find out if the tercel has a shine already. I don't expect a chrome desert eagle shine but a bit of one would be good.

Otherwise i'll just buy a cheaper black 1911 and polish it.
