Closing and reporting threads
21 April, 2011, 10:35
Posting, yet again, in general discussion as it's the only place some people seem to notice things
Closing a thread.
To close your own classifieds thread, click on "Thread tools" (at the top of the thread) and you will find that "close thread" has already been selected. Click "Perform Action" and the thread will be closed. You can always reopen it using the same button.
Do not post "please close" type messages at the end of the thread. There are hundreds of posts on the forum every day and we will miss some, leading to stroppy users (see below).
Reporting a thread.
Click the red triangle in the top right corner of the first post. This will bring up a box in which you can give your reason for reporting the thread.
The same action can be used (by clicking the triangle on individual posts) to have single posts reported.
When to report a thread.
Come on guys, you should have all read the forum rules
Report threads that are asking for, or receiving, links or mentions of retailers who compete with zero in companies. That are rude, insulting or threatening. That contain porn, or links to a site which hosts porn. General spam may be reported (but this will be looked at on a case-by-case basis). If you are unsure, please report a post or thread and we will look into it. Please consider, though, that just because you report something doesn't mean that we will remove it. We will use our discretion.
DO NOT REPORT your own thread for closure if you are able to close it yourself. If you are unsure then try and, if you can't close it, then report it. We have received numerous stroppy messages and reports from one user (yes, you!) who is upset that we haven't closed his wanted thread yet.

Re: Closing and reporting threads
Just an addition - all reports are checked and investigated, however some reports are made when no further action is needed. When a report comes through, it is checked by one of the team.
Please understand that as we all have lives outside of the forum, some reports won't be acted on within the first few hundredths of a second, so please bear with us! Thanks.
Please get in touch if you want general help. Please report problematic posts.
Take responsibility for your choices. If you break any rule in life, you should be held accountable.
