battery/charger question (TLP AC97F)

anyone used this charger (TLP AC97F)? the first time i used it it blew up a battery, quite frankly i do not wish for this to happen again! i did use it since but i'm wondering if anyone has any idea how long i should charge an 8.4v nimh 3300mah large battery? cheers!

Here mate this should help...

batt capacity (mah) divided by charger output (mah) multiplied by 1.4 gives charging time in hours

for eg= 1100/250 x 1.4 = 6.16hours

thanks guys, will i need to discharge the battery btw? i have no discharger
it says .5A on the back of the charger, that means the mah of the charger is 500mah correct?
