  • ESS Advancer V12 Goggles

I've been looking around for some glasses or goggles and saw these mentioned.

What are the chances of any of them listed on ebay being genuine? The prices seem too low.

Also, looking at the zero one site, all the glasses except the peltor ones have a disclaimer regarding lack of CE marks. Are the peltor ones any good? Are the others any better?

I realise that some people have strong feelings about glasses and goggles, and I'm willing to spend a reasonable amount on some, but don't play enough to justify huge amounts. Not to mention, I always seem to get hit from a long range anyway!

Great site, picked up a full british loadout for £15! pity the goggles are out of stock, I got mine from there just before christmas-havnt had a chance to skirmish but they really are fantastic googles, the interchangeable lenses makes them even better.

In answer to your question-yes ebay sells authentic goggles.

Any idea if those are up to spec for airsoft use, or are they only for dust protection while sticking your head out of a tank?

                      Re: ESS Advancer V12 Goggles

I've just bought some ESS ICE 2.4s, however, upon looking at the bits of paper that came with them they quite clearly state "Do not use in the sport of 'paintball' or 'airsoft'."

Is this just ESS covering their backs for a use they weren't designed for, or should they really not be used?

Lenses have been tested to ANSI Z87.1 Which is more than sufficient for airsoft. The frames have only been tested to EN116F. That's only .87J. Well under what's needed for safe airsoft protection. Most sites will let you use them anyway. It's your decision if you've got the option. Your problem too if you loose an eye.
